As a business owner, having an up-to-date website is very important since out-of-date information doesn’t look good on a website and missing components could be a hinderance. Also, you should make sure that you have key components on your website that will help you reach your target audience. To help determine what you need to include, I have created a short list below:

  • Contact form: make sure that you provide a way for your target audience to connect with you directly. Having an actual form is best and if you want to include an email or phone number, this could be helpful too.

  • Testimonial section: ask your current client if they will give you a testimonial that you could put on your website.

  • Subscriptions: include RSS and mailing list that will allow your target audience to follow your news and tips that you share.

This is just a starter list of components that you need to make sure you have as part of your website in the coming year. Other areas that you might want to look into are sharing links with joint venture partners, searchable option, or link to your privacy statement.
